John Vissman has been active in the region’s nonprofit and civic communities for over two decades. Most recently he served as Director of the Institute for Nonprofit Capacity, Northern Kentucky University’s outreach to nonprofits in Greater Cincinnati, where he produced capacity-building programs and advanced nonprofit collaboration. In the early 2000s, John served as Vice President of Forward Quest (now known as Vision 2015). In the 1990’s, he served as Executive Director of Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati and he owned his own fundraising consultancy.
Throughout his career in fundraising and development John has served on numerous boards including Kids Voting Kentucky, MBA Advisory Board Northern Kentucky University, Leadership Northern Kentucky, Covington Rotary Club (past president, trustee and assistant district governor), and Aronoff Center for the Arts Rental Subsidy Committee.
John earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and his MBA from Northern Kentucky University. In 2000, he received a Distinguished Service Award from Northern Kentucky University, and in 2007 he received the William R. Burleigh Award for Distinguished Community Service. He has also been a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International and was a member of the Leadership Northern Kentucky Class of 2000. John is married to Christine Marion Vissman, Esq. They have resided in their home in Covington, Kentucky for 32 years.
