CLC welcomed Alana Seixas Meyer to our Lexington office as a Barrett Social Justice Fellow and staff attorney in 2018. Before joining CLC as a fellow, Alana was a law clerk in our Lexington office during the summer of 2017.
Born in South Florida to Jamaican parents, Alana is now a proud resident of Kentucky. She went to undergrad at Cornell University where she studied sociology and policy analysis & management. She discovered her love for social science-informed law and policy, juvenile defense, and child advocacy work during undergrad while working at Lawyers for Children in New York City. She went to law school at Vanderbilt where she was the Garrison Social Justice Scholar for her class.
As part of her fellowship, Alana is developing an Education Right's Program for youth committed to juvenile detention centers and youth development centers, or transitioning back into their home communities after commitment.
