Andi Dahmer

Andi Dahmer joined the Children’s Law Center as a staff attorney in August 2025. She primarily serves as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) for children in Kentucky custody cases. Andi is a Truman Scholar, Rhodes Scholarship Finalist, Ms. JD Fellow, New Leaders Council Fellow, and graduate of Emerge Kentucky. She has worked in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Supreme Court of Kentucky, the Kentucky State Senate, and nonprofit organizations, such as Mothers Esquire and the World Affairs Council of Kentucky. She has also co-authored a book chapter for the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Politics, five peer-reviewed publications, and more than forty news publications in Spanish and Mandarin.

She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law, where she served as the Student Bar Association President and member of the Law Review. At Brandeis, she participated in the Ackerson Clinic for survivors of domestic violence and as a research assistant for Prof. Cassie Chambers Armstrong.

Andi graduated summa cum laude from Western Kentucky University, quadruple majoring in Economics, International Affairs, Spanish, and Asian Religions and Cultures. While at WKU, Andi served as student body president and student regent. She has studied abroad thirteen times.

In her spare time, Andi enjoys barre fitness classes, mentoring high school students, and exploring new hiking trails. She is a Fellow with the American Bar Association (ABA) Commission on Women, a past member of the ABA Board of Governors, and Co-Chair of the New Leaders Council of Kentucky. She aspires to a career mitigating inequality and promoting opportunity in the Commonwealth.
